Ariel went to Arizona for an Avril Lavigne concert...

...and all she got was a lousy t-shirt.

Well, not lousy; it is a perfectly serviceable shirt with a perfectly serviceable picture of Avril Lavigne on it. But it is not by any stretch a concert, and that is because there was none. The concert was canceled due to laryngitis. So although she wound up spending a perfectly decent weekend with her mother, she still shlepped two thousand miles for a non-event. And since she thought she was going to see Lavigne in Arizona, we made no effort to see her locally.

So Avril Lavigne, if you happen to be reading this, try and swing by Long Island next time, okay?

Sorry to hear that missing a concert was a 2K mile mishap rather than an unfortunate little commute.

I don't suppose the shirt says "Avril Lavigne Got Laryngitis So All I Got Was This Crummy T-Shirt" by any chance?

How about Aug 3 Toms River Festival, New Jersey

That stinks, but it happens. Performers are prone to being human at times after all.

How about the concert in Hartford, Ct on 7/26.
I know Dad would just love to take his lil' girl to the show....

If Avril was coming to Baltimore, I'd offer your daughter lodgings here and a ride to the show. I'm sure Rachel would go with her.

Toms River is the same weekend as a convention she wants to go to, and there's no decent seats left for Hartford; just seats out on the grass a mile away.

Aww, sorry to hear that.

This somewhat enforces my concert belief of only going to shows with more then one musical act. Granted, it's usually because they need multiple acts in order to attract a decent crowd, but it's sometimes more fun with more singers.

If it counts for anything, Jonathan Coulton and Paul & Storm are doing a show in New York June 21st and the Accio Bodyguard Wizard Rock Tour will be doing a lot of shows around NY/NJ/PA.

They're not going to make up the date?

(I realize that another hit for airfare could be a factor, but, it could be worth looking into.)

Not to my knowledge,no.
