X-Factor week on Marvel.com

Travis Clark pointed out to me that Marvel.com has declared this to be X-Factor week, with a variety of features and such about stuff that's going to be happening in the book. You'd think I'd have realized this considering I did an interview for it; shows how much attention I'm paying to the world.

Anyway, feel free to check it out.

I'll be keeping tabs on the festivities this week, for sure. I'm looking forward to the Secret Invasion issue(s) and I'm especially looking forward to the She-Hulk crossover, which I noticed an allusion to in the marvel.com article.

How far off is the She-Hulk/X-Factor crossover? I figured we wouldn't be seeing it for quite a while yet.

Joe Quesada is the new X-Factor artist!!!

Just kidding, getting Stroman back is a brilliant idea. Loving the art in the new series so far but Stroman drawing Guido again gives me shivers. He's perfect for Darwin too. The character needs a more defined look.

As for the other member I'm probably going to go with Anole, Hellion, Prodicy or Bling. The latter just feels like a PAD character.

Funny, how everyone is already sure that its going to be Darwin and a former New X-men member, who are going to join the cast.

Of course the first has been already said somewhere before (i think it was in X-position) and the later comes with the knowledge that New X-men members are still highly popular, have cool powers and pose a relativ clean backstory.
So it makes sense to pick one of them, instand of some c- or d-listers.

However i think there is still a little possebility that the new additions are going to be surprises (even thought the chance gets slimer).

And of course there will be those who don't care about the new additions at all but simply want Layla back.

On another thing. If X-factor, is going to be effected by Secret Invasion, i wonder if it will be used in a more subtitle way like theire civil war tie in.

............Layla?

We can has Layla now?

Neat.

You've always been deserving of more recognition than you've gotten from Marvel over the years, PAD.

Hell, it shouldn't just be X-Factor week. It should be PAD Month for Marvel. :)

Helloes Sir PAD. New here, but not new to your work. Just wanted five things:

1) To let you know that your work in X-Factor is being appreciated all the way down here in Panamá City, Panamá. (Mostly by me, as the comic community here is very reduced; language barrier and all.)

2) To thank you for your work.

3) To make my hopes about you staying in X-Factor and She-Hulk for the foreseeable future known to you.

4) To request much more Monet.

5) To request the name of that second addition to the cast. Technically, your interview on marvel.com is coming out today, so I thought to myself, maybe PAD, being the loving and chariteable man that he is, will let us know who is a few hours in advance.

Meanwhile, over at Newsarama, Peter discusses IDW's ST: New Frontier series.

Love the cover with Kirk and Picard in the subordinate slots, Fallen Angel at security,
and Dick Chaney in the Captain's seat.

I really never did care for Stroman's art. Personally, I think that X-Factor looks awesome now and wouldn't want to change artists.

Hmmm. I would be willing to have Stroman take over the pencilling for a very good reason. It would draw (pun intended) more attention to this wonderful series. While Stroman has not done much in the public eye the past decade to my recollection, he did once. Having him rejoin Peter on this title would get some industry buzz on X-FACTOR.

Where is the announcement of Larry Stroman as the new artist? I'm not familiar with his art, but as far as I'm concerned, any artist staying for the long term would be a good thing; I liked Ryan Sook, Dennis Calero, and Pablo Raimondi, so why couldn't any of them stick with us for more than 4 issues at a time?

Also, I'm tremendously angry that I have to wait until NEXT FRIDAY (conservative estimate) to get my paws on #29. The interview is lovely, PAD!

Dude, I am so looking forward to the crossover. My bro said that she should be a new member. I think that would be kool, but I doubt that you'd do it. Man, i cannot wait until Friday. That's when I get issue #29. I wish I could make a run to the comic shop today. But that's not going to happen.

Stromans art looks great. I mean really great. I just hope he has a crisp inker.

That being said it looks like Surge is the other new member. Not who I would have chosen but I have every faith in Peter.

I've just heard that Siryn spends all issue trying to tell Jamie about her pregnancy, and he thinks she's trying to quit.

Perhaps this is why, whenever I think of "Jamie Madrox" in the same sentence as "impending fatherhood," I burst into shameless giggles.

Which is not to say I don't like Jamie, because I DO, and I understand why he's wound up, but, dude, that boy needs to start listening to his operatives, and quick.

I am very excited to see that Longshot is going to be joining the cast. He's a character I've really grown to love, and I was worried that he'd sit in limbo with his removal from Exiles. Glad to see he's going to be part of another book!

Although I'm curious as to what this means for Dazzler--they just had their reunion, after being apart for some time.

Posted by: othergrunty at March 14, 2008 04:48 PM

Ha looks like the chance for a surprise didn't got as slim as i thought.

On the other hand X-factor has always been the new haven for underused or forgotable characters, so Longshot is somewhat understandable.

Still there goes my hope of seeing Marrow joining the team. Also Longshot will clearly not be able to fill the hole Layla has left.

Yess!!!!! LOVE the fact that Stroman is going to be the new artist.
I only hope that he sticks around.

Even though the two new members have been announced, I wonder if there may still be one more surprise member on the way. I thought it was announced that one of the New X-Men students would be joining the cast- and there are too many dudes on the team at present. Mercury or Surge would spice things up.
