We're number one

As the link below indicates, Dark Tower is Amazon's number one pick for graphic novel for 2007. The collected edition is just out in the stores and, remember kids, the holidays are coming up.

And work is moving along briskly on the next five issue series, due out early in 2008.

Congrats on the success of Dark Tower.

Congratulations, PAD.

I`m sure it`s well deserved.

Gotta pick an issue for me at German amazon some time in the future. Oh, and of course your new TNG novel "Before Dishonor" :-)

Although I don`t like the character of Seven of Nine anymore. And Voyager kinda destroyed the Borg`s reputation. ;-)

Greetings from Germany,

Boughtthe individual issues for myself, got the trade from Amazon for my Mother in Law. It works for everyone!

Congrats on the success! I now know what to ask as a gift come Christmas time!

It's too bad that this book is only written for readers of the Dark Tower series. It's not very accessible to the uninitiated.

I'm rather stunned you say that, considering that not only did we labor mightily to make certain that it was accessible to all and sundry, but the vast majority of newcomers to Midworld have expressed absolutely no difficulty in following the story. I'm curious as to what part you have trouble following.

I was going to say "well done", but then it is obvious in context.

Congratulations on a wonderful success! All the teamwork was clicking on this, between art and story, between the two artists, and between the three writers (which worked seamlessly). You've got a lot to be proud of with this one.

All others are number two or lower.

Obviously SOMEbody just got done watching "Mystery Men" on Starz.

Okay, somebody besides me.

That would make such a great t-shirt.

Waht story/book will the next 5 issue arc cover?

Posted by: Robert D at November 14, 2007 10:52 PM

I can't agree with the idea of it being written for Dark Tower readers only. I've never picked up a Stephen King book in my life, and going into it blind, was really impressed by the first two issues. Unfortunately my systematic cutting back left me waiting for the trade with the rest of the series. Now that it's out, I'll probably pick it up tomorrow. But it seemed accessible enough to me.

I'm glad to hear you say that. Thanks.

It's not that the story was confusing so much as it was background information for characters and situations from the novels. It was the equivalent of Civil War: Frontline to Civil War - pretty much pointless if you're not reading the main series.

Frontkick, had you read the main series before you read it?

Is it true that there are plans to make 5 mini's total?

I think it's 5. Something like 30 or 35 issues total for the complete story.

Am I just talking out of my butt?

Peter, I actually haven't seen Mystery Men in while...just rememberd that line.

Posted by: Cory at November 16, 2007 12:39 AM

They sell this thing at Wal-mart for 17.34
just bought it there today. I see Jae Lee draws or inks it haven't seen that guy around since the mid 90s.

I suppose it was cheeper at amazon but you have to include postage and all that good stuf

Or,as my old boss might say*, "The guy in second place is just the first loser to make it over the finish line."

*Altough to be fair, I think he was quoting someone else at the time.

Appropo of nothing, but...

"Joaquin Murrieta?"

Is Rictor gonna end up with his head in a jar?

Dude, you're watching too much STARZ.

Posted by: Peter David at November 16, 2007 02:26 PM

Don't have to be watching Starz to know that Murrieta was a real life figure and still adored by many to this day.

But apparently I should google the facts before attempting witty repartee. D'oh.

I heartily agree with the voters of Amazon! I am very much looking forward to the next series!

Your comic served as a gateway drug to me actually purchasing and reading other Stephen King novels!
