L'Shana Tovah

May most of you be inscribed in the hardcover edition of the Book of Life, while for a handful, the trade paperback edition should suffice.

(I have no idea what that means, but it amuses me. Worst comes to worst, I can always atone for it next week.)

Now if you can just explain how the hardcopy edition of the Book of Life I'm in got remaindered?

Posted by: Jerry Chandler at September 13, 2007 10:24 AM

Actually, I would prefer to be inscribed in the limited edition, gold foil cover, stamped and embossed variant with a randomly inserted free "Jerry" trading card illustrated by one of five current hot artists.

If you're going to geek out, geek out in style.

I'm waiting for the movie based on the book.

L'Shana Tovah right back! While my church, The Crossing, is a Christian based ministry, we honor all the High Holy Days and tonight they're celebrating the event with dance, food, and prayer. I have to work, but my wife Dee is going to be there, and she'll be taking pictures.

L'shana tovah.

I've been a bad Jew this year. I didn't know when the High Holidays were until Sunday. Monday night, my aunt calls me about going to services Wednesday night. I thought to myself, "But that's new comic day! I usually read my comics Wednesday night." That's what I ended up doing. The worse thing is that I really don't feel that bad about it, althought it's like I've said the major difference (other than the obvious) between Judiasm and Catholcism is. Catholcism has guilt built in. With Judiasm, it just works out that way.

BTW, can I be inscribed in the Essential Book of Life? I'd also take being inscribed in the Absolute edition of the Book of Life.

I got my name in the hardcover edition of the Book of Liff. It was an honorary thing, and I only had to pay the guy on the phone $80 for them to send me a copy to my home as it wasn't going to be available in stores.

Feeling left out of this disscussion as I am as gentile as I am genteel.... Altough as much as I was guilted my my mother as a child I think I might be eligible for honorary membership....lol

Eh, I'm not one to wait for trades, I much prefer the singles. ;)

What, no DVDROM edition? You'd think He'd be up to date on these things, what with being the Alpha and Omega. And it's not like He's worried about piracy...you can't make a bootleg without Him knowing about it.

Thanks, Peter, either for thinking so highly or for putting us in our proper place. And that IS a cool turn of phrase. Happy New Year, if it's not completely innapropriate for an Irishman to say that.

PAD, have you apologised to Stephen Colbert, yet?

If God is omnipresent and omnipotent, why does he need a book to remember stuff?

Peter,

I hope you are not right about life being random and unfair, and, I will add, quite possibly, insignificant. I know it can feel that way sometimes.

I was pondering what you said about your own health, and I hope you are doing well. Had an English professor who was borderline diabetic, lost 80 pounds, and now has no signs of diabetes.
Random??

And, incidentally, I work in a Jewish Studies program for the University of Illinois. If you would ever consider visiting our program, I would be happy to give you more information.

Thank you and continued success.
