I want that for a bumper sticker!

Posted by: Gorginfoogle at May 22, 2007 10:52 AM

Oh, please tell me Joe Q. is allowing Madrox to be the one to save the day at the end of WWH. That would be the greatest event finale ever.

Posted by: Peter David at May 22, 2007 10:56 AM

The banner was sent along to me by Jim McCann at Marvel who says that it was put together by a fan over on the Millar board.

No, it has nothing to do with the denouement of WW Hulk. But that would be a kick, wouldn't it.

Hey cool, glad you like it. You just made my day. :)

Posted by: Jerry Chandler at May 22, 2007 11:21 AM

Nothing to do...!?!

Damn!

I logged on, saw that and and had a massive fanboy moment. That would have been soooooooo much fun to read.

Posted by: Luigi Novi at May 22, 2007 11:55 AM

You had a massive---------?

Geez, Jerry, that's more than I needed to know. I mean, did it involve tissues?

(Just kidding.)

This is probably too literalistic (if that means anything in a discussion of Homo Superior), but what is the official line on the mechanism for destroying Madrox? I would think incineration in the core of the Sun would be dependable, but you never know where some previous split might be.

The Cosmic Cube with very specific instructions, perhaps?

Posted by: El Hombre Malo at May 22, 2007 12:52 PM

Hummmmm...unless the few issues I have yet to read changed anything (theres a delay for the spanish edition, y'know) when Madrox gets shot at, he doesnt spawn a duplicate. So piercing, fast impacts dont make his power work.

All hulk needs is to learn to strike Madrox with one finger instead of the whole fist.

...geek who? ;)

speaking of geekdoom, theres a "Dia del Orgullo friki" (Geek/nerd pride day) planned in Madrid May 25th. Its the second year it takes place, with some media coverage, concerts and stuff. I was the first in my time to openly accept my nerdity, but this is getting ridiculous.

Posted by: Micha at May 22, 2007 02:02 PM

"nerdity"

Should it be nerdity, nerdness, nerdom, nerdocity, or nerditute?

Posted by: Craig J. Ries at May 22, 2007 02:04 PM

Oh, the irony of that banner. From the August solicitations:

"MARVEL ADVENTURES HULK #2
Written by PAUL BENJAMIN
Penciled by JUAN SANTACRUZ
Cover by CARLO PAGULAYAN
On the run from authorities and trying to figure out a way to cure his gamma-irradiated curse, Bruce Banner enlists the help of Jamie Madrox, the Multiple Man. But things get out of hand when a lab accident creates another Hulk... and another... and another."

Posted by: J. Alexander at May 22, 2007 02:19 PM

Hmmmm. Could the banner really be a big tease as to next year's big crossover bonanze? This could be the real reason that Peter is leaving FNSM. Ah! We could dream, can we?

Posted by: mj at May 22, 2007 02:36 PM

Quoted from Craig Ries: "Oh, the irony of that banner." And while we're at it, don't forget the irony of referring to a picture of the Hulk as a banner.

Geez, Jerry, that's more than I needed to know. I mean, did it involve tissues?

I hate you, Luigi.

Reminds me to do a World War Hulk, "you are all f**ked up when Cap comes back." Banner.

But this one is funny as well

This message looks like it came from one of those death-obsessed dupes Jamie was complaining about in X-Factor #19. First a dupe goes and registers and now this...sucks to be Jamie these days, doesn't it?

Posted by: Micha at May 22, 2007 06:40 PM

I understand that Jamie's dupes reflect different aspects of his personality. But does that mean that he looses that aspect of his personality when the dupe exists, and does the dupe have a narrower emotional/psychological range than the real Jamie?

This fight could be PAD's ultimate story

The Incredible Hulk in...
"Bowling for Madrox!"

Posted by: Jeff Alan Polier at May 22, 2007 09:01 PM

I thought that it was established back in "X-Factor" volume one that there is a limit on how many dupes can be created.

Posted by: Adam Sorkin at May 22, 2007 11:10 PM

At one point, he could only create 40, but if his run in with Hydra is any indication, he can create far far more than that now.

Posted by: Ross O'Brien at May 23, 2007 05:43 AM

He did recently goad Cyclops into creating fifty or a hundred of him.

I saw this banner and started clicking on it, assuming someone had created some kind of psychotic Madrox Whack-A-Mole game. I was disappointed when nothing happened.

Posted by: R.J. Carter at May 23, 2007 01:42 PM

I always get him confused with that Oreo-style chocolate sandwich cookie. Do they still make Hydrox?

Posted by: Doug Atkinson at May 23, 2007 02:56 PM

Do they still make Hydrox?

According to Wikipedia, it was phased out in 1996.

Posted by: Marc Grant at May 23, 2007 09:02 PM

"...some kind of psychotic Madrox Whack-A-Mole game."

I second this idea! Any coders want to get started on it?

Posted by: IƱaki at May 24, 2007 03:03 AM

Ha! You can do a sequel to the Mutant Massacre focused exclusively on Madrox.

Posted by: TallestFanEver at May 24, 2007 04:05 AM

I'd love to see an X-Factor WWH tie-in issue.

Posted by: JohnLock at May 24, 2007 07:07 AM

Jamie Maddrox- the human tribble. I think the accompanying sfx of his duping should be a cowbell....

Posted by: Wayne Sung at May 25, 2007 07:53 PM

Actually, I've also wondered about the aspect lost or not issue. I would say unlikely since Jamie's still Jamie at core, each dupe is just a remixed version of him with a focus on a particular trait. Otherwise, there would be even more extreme cases of dupe anxiety and melodrama. ;p

I do love the tag line for the banner. There's always more...
