Harvey Nomination

Hunh. "X-Factor" has been nominated for a Harvey for best new series. I'm fairly sure it's the first time that anything I've worked on has gotten a Harvey nomination. Who'd've thought?

Please, your stuff is gold.

Peter, The Incredible Hulk -1 was nominated for best single story in 1998.

And congratulations on this year's nomination.

Congratulations, Peter. After the last issue, I'd definitely agree with them. I think you've really hit your stride with this, and I'm eager to see where you are going to go with this series. And nice codename for Layla Miller, too.

Congratulations on the nomination! I've been mulling whether to pick the X-Factor tpb (Sorry no monthly, I'm trying to keep a budget) but now it's a buy.

By the way, when are you going to do another 'What do ya want to know?(sp)'?I have so many questions!

And the solicits for Fallen Angel are looking very interesting...

And Another Thing...

With G4's rebranding, shouldn't they televise The Harvey's?

My two cents,

1.6 American,

Bloody little good pence.

Congrats, Peter! The Harvey nominators made some very interesting choices this year, lots of names I haven't seen on previous lists.

Congratulations! Well earned.

Congratulations, Peter!

(But I still won't be happy until FALLEN ANGEL wins one. *wink*)

Well, me, for one. You're a damn good writer.

Neat!

You deserve far many more nominations for awards than you've been getting.

Posted by: Mike Smith at June 1, 2006 10:33 PM

Well deserved. I got into the comics for the art. You kept me reading them when they switched to a "less talented" artist.

On a separate note, would you be interested in doing some dialog and plot writing for an indie video game? Let me know.

Thanks!

Congrats, Peter. But who gives out/votes on the Harveys. Professionals? Fans? Critics? The Shriners?

But who gives out/votes on the Harveys. Professionals? Fans? Critics? The Shriners?

Well, duh! Obviously, anyone named Harvey.

Congrats Peter! It's well deserved.

Well deserved. Congratulations, hope you win.

Congratulations Peter, it's well earned! No, I never would have thought you'd be nominated for a Harvey, but I'd never *heard* of the Harveys before. Now that I have, I can't see how you *couldn't* be nominated, given the quality of your work :)

The Harveys are selected by votes of comic professionals. More information can be found at http://www.harveyawards.org .

Well, duh! Obviously, anyone named Harvey.

Would explain American Splendor's many nods. How many other Harvey's out there. Aside from ghosts in a phonebook.

And on that note-- Wouldn't Ghosts in a Phonebook be a great sequel to Snakes on a Plane?

But when will you win the ever-conveted Wizard Awards?

Hehe.

Congratulations! The nomination is well deserved, and not just for X-Factor.

X-Factor also is also the only X-book that I'm currently reading.

The fact that the nomination (and the hopeful win) is well-deserved has been pretty well established. You are one of the few writers out there whose work I always enjoy. (Thinking about the phaser-proof vest always makes me smile, and with the month I've been having, I've needed it.) Kinda nice when your work is appreciated, ain't it?

Posted by: Luke K. Walsh at June 3, 2006 06:24 PM

Allow me add my congratulations, PAD! The great work you've been producing deserves all the recognition it can get.

Doug wrote:

It may soon also be mine as well, as Claremont is leaving Uncanny X-Men again :( :( (Oh, wait - there is still Astonishing. For however long they'll still be prodcing that. Still, still bummed about Uncanny.)

And - Tom Spurgeon, that's good to hear about Incredible Hulk -1! While many to most comics used the Flashback gimmick for throwaway stories, you, PAD, presented a pivotal tale, crucial to the on-going series - and one of the best Hulk issues ever, really. Nice to know that other creators recognized that, too.

Ouch. That sentence should read "It may soon be my only one as well", not the "also as well" mess I somehow put in there.

It's about time. CONGRATS to one of my favorite writers. The order may change, but my top five always seem to be: you. Gerber, Ellison, Vonnegut, King.

I am more surprised that you hadn't won one before now than that you are nominated for X-Factor! Bout time they got it right! I happy for you so congrats! The only reason why i am collecting X-Factor is due to your previous run with it and it is the ONLY X-title i have on my pull list. I may pick up an issue of Ultimate x-men or Astonishing or Uncanny, but i am in no way devoted to it like i am to X-factor and will wait months for those with complete patience unlike X-Factor.

Also, i just picked up Fallen Angel and Spike vs. DRacula #3 and loved both. Can't wait for more.

Does this mean you will be coming to Baltimore COmicon?

Posted by: francotiger at June 5, 2006 10:57 PM

Surely you jest.Humbleness aside, this is long overdue.Congrats.

Didn't check this series out, but maybe I should. All the X stuff kinda blends together on the stands.
