A *possible* New Frontier Sighting

The producers of the show "Martha Stewart" contacted Pocket Books for permission to display the cover of a "New Frontier" novel that features Ashley Judd as "Robin Lefler," since Judd is slated to appear on the show today. I'll be watching to see if they do it and what they say, if anything.

UPDATE: Oh well. Apparently not. God, what a boring show. I think they should have Eve Plumb come on and whine, "Martha, Martha, Martha!"

I didnt think they would. I have nothing against Ashley Judd, but she's never talked about her connection (albeit minor) to Star Trek. She obviously doesn't do conventions. she doesnt give interviews to fanzines. of course she has every right to do as she pleases, its just something Ive noticed.

I dont know what the legalities of her contract were, but Id be willing to bet that Paramount owns the right to use the Ashley Judd-as-Robin Lefler image in perpituity. Only because I doubt she would give her continued permission for the use of it.

PAD, can you shine any light on the subject?

I'm reminded of some standup comic's bit talking about the Brady Bunch, where he says, "Okay, and everyone remembers when Jan's sister Martha --"

Naturally, several audience members yell "Marcia!".

His response: "Geek check!"

Just thought I'd share.

Off to visit family -- enjoy the weekend!

See, Peter, this is why I always thought Morgan looked like Naomi Judd--until you described otherwise.

Baron: you have most of the legalities right, close enough for Paramount anyway.

Reminds me of another comic I saw once. He was trying to remember: "On that old program Facts of Life, what was the name of the black girl?" Half the audience immediately yells out "Tootie!"

"Uh, huh. Right." he says. "And who is the Speaker of the House?" Dead silence.

Sigh. Damned italic tags foil me again!
