Ariel update

She made the bowling team. We got the list of practices and tournaments.

I'll be sure to let folks know how she does as the season progresses.

Congrats!!! I'm envious of the chance she and others get today, as bowling is a fairly recent addition to school sports in most places.

BTW--our team is trying to take over 1st place tonight. It's position round night, and we are only 1.5 games behind the 1st place team. We bowled the same team last week in normal rotation, and every game came down to the last ball for both anchors. What's better, even though it is a handicap league, our teams are almost identical (2 pins difference) so it really did come down to who bowled best. It was probably the best night of the year, and I'm hoping its just as good tonight. (A repeat of last week would also mean that we win!! Even better!!)

BTW-2-I don't know if you have finally gone to one of the ABC tournaments, but you should really try to go this year. Oh, and I guess I should say USBC. That's going to be a habit that takes a looooong time to break. Anyway, the USBC tournament is a must for anyone who really enjoys bowling. It's in Corpus Christi, Texas this year. There are also the side tournaments like the Storm Challenge, the Bowler's Journal, and the 40 Frame Game (a blast!!!). Just get five people together, and have a good time.

I only wish we had a HS bowling team here. Me, I had to settle for a Saturday kids' league on a little 12-laner...though I haven't picked up a ball in about 5 years...

Congrats to Ariel, though! May you roll a 300 in your first match :D

Congrats, Ariel! Which high school team is she on? I used to work for the Record weekly newspapers, which covered the schools by the Great South Bay. Bellport used to have some girls whose parents ran one of the local lanes.

I suppose she's going to pester you now, to get that transparent bowling ball with the skull embedded inside. I simply recommend the bowling shirt with the skull and crossed pins embroidered on the back.
