The Wife Speaks

Peter will be AFTK (away from the keyboard) for the next couple of days as he works on a project that he has been working on for a while but needs his undivided attention for a few days.

I am asking everyone to play nice while he is not online.

thanks-
Kathleen

PAD, you spend so much great time making fans happy - we can gladly give you a few days to make you happy! Thanks for all you do in comics, books, and blogs. Cheers!

Found the silver lining in this. I learned what AFTK means. Oh, and that Peter's working on a project.

I never could get my priorities right.

Um... you mean they've been playing nice while he's been online?
Wow.
Not sure if I wanna see this...

Ok, PAD's gone for awhile.... Anyone got a deck of cards while we wait?

The scary thing is Kath had to post that to keep us ravenous blog dogs at bay-or theow us a bone, I'm not sure.

Thanks Kath. If you or anyone else checks this thread, can someone please pass this on to PAD? I didn't know if it would be worth sending it to his e-mail given his schedule.

I know several folks in the David family have gone up on stage, so I thought I'd pass this on if they're still interested in acting: Jason Carter of Babylon 5 will be bringing his "The Fearless Art" acting workshop to Synergy Theatre in Islip this September. Info can be found here:

Thanks!

Peter's away... People are gonna go insane...

There's only one thing to do...

TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

But, seriously, does anyone know what "sic" means?

A scathing article about Orson Scott Card and his fans?

In Spider and Jeanne Robinson's Stardance, it was the abbreviation for Spacefac Industries Corporation - which, of course, led to the moment of Charles Armstead's second return to Earth, with Nora, when they saw the sign at the disembarkation point of the spaceport:

SIC TRANSIT
(gloria mundi)

lol. *throws some furniture right at him, but misses anyway.* Hey, it was just bean bags! Really! Honest! lol. hehe. :)

Anyway, I'm an OSC and a PAD fan. Both are great writers, imo. Let's try to get along, ok? lol.

" Btw, I disagreed with what OSC said about Trek too (and I disagree with a lot of his movie reviews too), but that doesn't mean I stop liking his books. Everybody has a right to their opinion. Even writers. lol."

'sic' is usually used when quoting something that has spelling or grammatical errors in it, so as to say "Yes we know they're there - they were in the original. Don't blame us for them.
