Back on track

Well, we seem to be up and running again, although curiously enough the site remains inaccessible via Firefox. Explorer is getting the job done, though, and my thanks to Glenn for his infinite patience as he was being deluged with queries as to what the hell was going on.

Of course, when one is making a big new announcement about coming onto a title, that's exactly the moment you want your website to crash. My advent on Spidey was being actively discussed everywhere on the internet...except here. Well, except here and the John Byrne board, where an entirely positive thread about my taking on Spider-Man--a thread that violated absolutely none of the Byrne board rules--vanished into the ether, deleted by the PTB. Threads bashing me remain securely in the archives, naturally. In the interests of full disclosure, the Byrne board moderators might want to add that, in addition to troublemakers and threads filled with hostility and bile, that positive threads about me are also unwelcome and will be deleted or banned, just to save posters trouble.

In any event, we're back, and no, I didn't watch the Bush press conference last night. I watched "West Wing" repeats instead, because gosh darn it, if I'm going to spend time with a fake president, it's gonna be Jeb Bartlet.

Tsk. They're not "repeats" you know. As if a TV company would ever insult their viewers by "repeating" stuff. They're "Easyview". Don't you pay attention? :)

I am posting this with Firefox right now.

Back in the 2000 election I truly feel the Supreme Court appointed George Bush. They, in a late night emergency meeting, stopped the Florida recount when it was clear that Gore was going to pull ahead. However as loathe as I am to admit it there is nothing fake about the way George won the last election. Yes, he used what some might call dirty tactics but so did the Kerry camp. We all witness a very ugly campaign. In the end however, for reasons that still baffle me given the economic state of our county and the war of Iraq, the Republicans kicked butt and took names in the last election so prominent Democrats like Peter need to stop complaining about 04 and focus on 06 and 08.

I was shocked at how postive the thread was at Newsarama. I mean, I'm a fan of PAD, but at Newsarama they generally bitch about EVERYTHING.

Posting with Firefox right now, too - I had no problems at all!

Gotta come along with a third here Glenn, I'm using Firefox also, no problems. Been able to access the site daily since the problems started without any trouble also.

Yeah, Firefox is working for me now as well. It hadn't been working for Kath, and when I tried it all I could get was the frozen up version with no responses. But now even Firefox seems good to go.

Padguy ... if a glitch like that ever happens again, you're more than welcome to come over and start up a thread on the IMWAN forums ( http://www.imwan.com/phpBB2 ) ...

In fact, you're welcome to do that even if your site is up ... as is anyone who is reading this.

I've had no problems viewing the site in Firefox since I used the Adblock extension to block out the anti-Bush clock; previously the clock was causing my entire system to freeze up when I tried to read the site.
