Sure why not...lol...I particularly like they've gotten donations as well as the head of the project of what he does.

The kid's a genius and his mom was surgeon general. And, he did it with Ashley Judd! I'd vote for him.

Still, the media is sure to bring up his mind-expanding "trips" and his radical "Save the Indians" protests.

Now, who can we get to be his running mate? I nominate Marissa Flores.

As Mad Magazine used to say during their "Vote Mad" campaigns: "You could do worse. And in the past you often have."

How about Heuy Freeman for running mate? The debates between him & the V.P. should be lively.

I guess Wesley has come a long way from the "Kill Wesley Now" t-shirts. But I'd rather have Jean-Luc in charge.

Personally, I'd rather have the Cthulhu for President campaign again. Why Vote For The Lesser Evil? Cthulhu and West and 2004!

You must be punished.

All I have to say to that is -

Beeblebrox in 2004.

He did Ashley Judd? When? Where? How?

Posted by: Joseph J. Finn at October 21, 2003 10:54 AM

Ashley Judd was in a really early episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. No idea of the episode title, but I remember she was going to a planet to unite two warring sides, and she was actually a shapeshifter. Gave Wesley his first kiss.

Well, she was in an episode of TNG, but you got the wrong episode, the wrong chick, and the wrong situation. :)

She played Ensign Robin Lefler (who has now been transplanted by PAD into his New Frontier series of books).

The shapechanger was Salia from the episode "The Dauphin".

To add to what Craig said:

She was actually in two episodes.

I wouldn't have known it except

that TNN has a ST: TNG marathon

with episodes with guest stars.

In one episode, they were

stretching the guest star status

a bit, since she was probably

in less that a minute of the

show, piloting a shuttle craft

for one of the command staff

that probably could have driven

themselves.

I think the main episode that

people would remember was called

"The Game" where Wesley comes

back to the ship on break.

Ryker has returned from a leave

with a new game, that is actually

a mind control device, planted by enemies in an

elaborate plot to take over

the Enterprise.

Ensign Lefler also had a set of

rules that were interesting.

Do these carry over to the NF

novels?

Without going back and re-reading all the NF novels (and actually I intend to do that real soon), I seem to remember PAD has briefly mentioned Lefler's Laws a couple times in some of the earlier NF books but has never made too much fuss about them. (If so, he should add a new one for her about having a crush on a certain diplomat...but I digress...)

I started reading Stone and Anvil last night and only sleep made me put it down. I will say there's one page fairly early on (in the second chapter, a flashback to an encounter between Calhoun and Picard), that contains not one, but two general bellylaughs: a Patrick Stewart pop-culture reference and a bawdy joke. Two laughs on one page--that's a fantastic quota compared to most of today's Trek fiction (I just finished reading the interesting but somewhat grim and depressing Captain Harriman novel).

As for the Ashley Judd as Robin Lefler connection, all I can say is that made me, for a long time, picture Morgan as Naomi Judd. (PAD had, of course, another, more intriguing idea about who she looks like...)

Finally, I haven't had a chance to fire it up, but has anyone looked at the CD-ROM that came with Stoen and Anvil? The packaging seems to suggest it contains the complete text of all the NF novels! If so, I've got to whistle in admiration ,and as a guy who works in publishing, extreme incredulity that they're giving away that farm. But then again, I haven't looked at it yet.

And finally, I'm pleased someone picked up on how horrific my suggestion that Marissa Flores be Wesley's running mate. Well, anything to keep her out of negotiations with the Romulans.

Jesus Saves, Allah Protects, and Cthulhu thinks you'd make a nice sandwich.

I believe they were in the first three or four. It's been awhile, but it wasn't in the last few.

I like that saying, Travis! Never heard it before, but it's funny!

Hay, Peter how are you? Fine? Good.

Anyway, you are my favorite writer of Star Trek novels ever. And I'm looking forward to reading the new ones very soon. Question: Have you thought about or have there ever been any talk about sending a proposal for a telivision series based on Star Trek Excalibur novels. I know, and know one can tell me differently, if ST Excalibur was on UPN instead of this new series Entergarbage---rating would hit the roof. Granted if suitable actors are found to play Calhoun and the others. Thank for doing this question thing again. And to the question, if never talk about to the Paramount, can you at least get Paramount to consider it, since you do have the top selling Star Trek series on the market today? Your excalibur stories would be great in live action. I know it. And I know I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Does Wil Wheaton know about this?

Wish I could take credit for it, but I can't... which tells you that I've been a Lovecraft geek for wayyyy tooo long.
