Couldn't tell you. My retailer didn't get in any copies for whatever reason.

Now this is more like it! It's hilarious to see Raphael try to make right, only to see the situation get worse every time he acts, and it's also a bit sad to see that Raphael may never get the light that he craves so much. Being a ninja can suck, especially if you're a turtle one. It's the first time TMNT felt like something PAD would write.

I enjoyed it immensely. I've been waiting for an issue where you could write an original story and it pays off. I love how brought the domino effect to Ralph's actions. I also love all the reference jokes from the Superman movie and Sesame Street. I can't wait to read what you write up for the next issues!

Also, I have a question:

Are you involved with the upcoming "T4" turtle project?

I was very pleasantly surprised. Raph was always my least favorite Ninja Turtle (reminded me too much of my older brother), but this ish gives him some heart. As I've come to expect from PAD, a very nic blend of humor and drama.

And yes, Peter is involved with T4. It's showing up in issue 8, so's writing it. The question is, will the Turtlenator run for Governor of New York?

I'm one of those people fans hate- who just hop on for the first issue and leave, and since the first 4 weren't all original stories, I just hopped onto #5 (because of PAD's post a few months ago about the plot- Raph starts off saving a cat in a tree and ends up fighting for his life- intriguing) and I thought it was very well written and interesting- and not just for a ten year old, ya know? Pretty heady stuff. I'm not exactly sure if a 2nd grader would like a story that includes a sniper planning on taking out people to "spare them" reality. (Yeah, I know- the comics for kids vs. comics for teen/adults debate is nothing new). In any case, it was an intriguing use of realism,-- or psychological realism in a fun story.

The art was very good too, I was pleasantly surprised. I never really was a fan of Udon-y art, but the artist and colorist were very good.

In any case, I won't be getting #6, but I know it'll be a good comic. (I'm a poor college student, soon to be poor grad school student).

The comic shop nearest my home did not get their copies of TMNT #5 this week, so I won't be able to read it until the weekend at least when I get a chance to check out some of the other shops in town.

I've been a fan of the Ninja Turtles since the first cartoon series, and I've seen all three movies, but I think your #5 is the first time I was able to empathize with any of them. The first cartoon kind of glossed over the fact that the turtles, awesome as they are, lead somewhat lonely lifestyles. Raphael, being the more "twitchy" out of the four of them, would feel this the most.

Looking forward to next issue's Leo story. I always thought that, in the first 'toon and the movies, Leo was short-changed in the personality department. Very interested to see what you do there.

TMNT #5 was probably my favorite book this week (although it's possible tied with Spidey #500 and Batman #620, and I haven't read all of my books this week yet). Raph is my favorite character in this new incarnation of the Turtles, and it's great to see the start of original stories from Peter. The art on this book is absolutley amazing. LeSean has been on my list of artists to watch since Arkanium came out.

No complaints. Only praise.

Hands down the best issue of the series by far.

Are all of the issues from here on out original or will you be adapting some too? Because the difference in quality is QUITE clear.

Nice.

One of the best stories I've read in a long time. Almost too good to be a TMNT story. The last line was hysterical. Thanks.

Great issue. Incredibly written, which pretty much goes without saying.

It amazes me how much LeSean's art has improved since issue #1. I can tell he's really gotten comfortable with the characters.

I really liked it. This title has been "on probation" so far, but I'm now definitely adding it to my pull list.

Okay, I may have a different perspective. Never liked the turtles, never bought the turtles (except for the one with Cerebus). This is the first Turtle comic I ever bought, soley because your name was on it.

It was... well... cute is the best word I can think of -- which is unfortunate, because it's not a word I like to use. But it was. Cute. Funny premise (tho' a little disturbing), great dialogue (natch), nice resolution. Cute. and I don't mean that in a bad way.
